Central Victoria - Straight from the Ovens
Deep in the heart of Central Victoria the Ovens Valley is home to European traditions, fine cuisine and locally inspired produce that need not travel far to go from farmgate to dinner plate. I interviewed three of the best chefs the Ovens has to offer and met some of their home grown producers who keep the kitchen pantry fresh with flavour.

Kenya - Samburu Safari
Africa is a special destination for any photographer, but some places stick in your memory better than others. Samburu is home to one of Africa's more modest game parks that has not the fame of the Serengeti, has not the drama of Victoria Falls or the romance of Okevango Delta. But it has some of the most beautifil species of Zebra, elegent antelopes and sweet little deer called dik diks. It's also named after the Samburu people who have a special connection withe land and its wildlife.

Borneo - Sabah Special
I have to admit I love Sabah and loved a chance to visit again recently. I've tramped the luscious jungles, been defeated by its towering summits and swam with the turtles on the tip of underwater volcanoes. This time I explored a little closer to civilisation, savouring the culture of Kota Kinabalu and getting out to the nearby islands where marine preservation is working hand in hand with tourism. Giant clams, eco-harvested fish and some stunning cooking come together in Sabah.

Stockholm - New Style for an Old Town
Scandinavia is one of my favourite destinations because of the elegant balance they have achieved between treasured traditions and contemporary culture. Stockholm demonstrates this blend of old and new with real style. In the heart of the city is Gamla Stan, the old town, surrounded by charming water ways, dozens of museums and some truley fine cuisine and bars.

Japan - Beautiful Secrets
On the western edge of Kyushu the city of Nagasaki is well known to foreigners for rickety old electric trams and a vibrant nightlife - both of which blend international influences with Japanese kitsch. Nagasaki has historically been the port of entry for curious travellers seeking to understand the peculiarities of Japanese culture. I've written many stories about my visits to Japan, but there are some treasures I kept to myself for a long time because they are small and treasured and worthy of "quiet reflection" only.

Antarctica - Sleeping with the penguins
If your spirit for exploration is not completely quenched by artistic ice, squabbling penguins and hikes across the landscape you can always add a few kayak excursions to the trip. When you pre-book this option you'll be provided with sea-kayaks, dry-gear and the chance to paddle instead of Zodiac when the conditions are suitable. Few travel experiences have made the impact upon me that Antarctica has, and even more unusual it is having shared the journey with 80 other travellers on the boat. Such is the lure of the ice and the charm of the penguins.
