This is my favourite town in Nepal, a little enclave of culture at the foot of the Mustang Kingdom. Once it was a remote outpost along the windhorse trail, but today it's where we stop for yak cheese and real coffee. For photographers, Kagbeni is a true gem that shoots well from any angle.

Behind The Scenes

If you haven't seen the Foodies in Nepal photo essay, we highly recommend you have a look. The apple pancakes are truly yummy!

Images from this series were taken on the 2013 Nepal Photography Tour. They were shot with a Fujifilm X-M1 and a couple of well selected prime lenses. Photography is not about cameras, it's about getting the experience into the frame.
Moments are rare, but some can last forever.

A final note. Kagbeni is a special place for me, but not without a shadow of sadness.
This set of images is offered with rememberence of Shing.
