For one show only, an inspiring photographic exhibition that reveals the charms of Borneo's jungle. The wilderness comes to Melbourne's Gasworks Arts Park April 8-19 2008, and you're invited to come along to see the work. The major fundraising event will be an auction on the evening of April 11, 6pm-9pm - come and share some goodwill and dollars to help the cause.
How to get to Gasworks Arts Park
The highlight of the exhibition will be a series of art prints, generously donated by the following photographers who toured Borneo in July 2007...
Heather Hartkamp
Member of POTD photo club and Red Bubble, former school teacher and the guiding inspiration for our journey to Borneo. Heather’s photography always goes beyond the photo itself, as does her travel.
Yvonne McMahon
This Gippsland resident has a lifetime of experience of picture framing and knowing what makes a good photo. She also has several weeks experience carrying a 10kg camera kit around the jungles of Borneo.
Betty Burns
An adventurous soul who has entered retirement-age with a passion for exploring cultures from far horizons. She isn’t afraid to trek into the jungle in search of bizarre species of flora, fauna and leeches.
Ewen Bell
Australian Travel Photographer of The Year (ASTW), Ewen leads several photographic tours each year to various parts of Asia. As an instructor of photography his guiding principle is to find one’s own expression with the camera, and share the beauty of the world.
All profits from the tour exhibition and prints sold on this website go directly to Zoos Victoria to aid Orangutan conservation projects and forest habitats in Borneo.
