Chiang Mai holds a unique place in the history of Thailand, the former city of the Lanna Kingdom. Overlookign the city is the temple of Doi Su Thep, a site chosen when a fabled white elephant carried a relic of the Buddha into the forests. Where the elephant came to rest is where they built the temple.

Behind The Scenes
These images were taken during a photography tour I lead for Grasshopper Adventures. The Ancient Kingdoms Photo Tour runs in November each year, is open to just 8 people each trip and for two weeks we get thoroughly spoiled by the charms of South-East Asia!
