Travel Photography Research Trips
The photography research tours are a unique travel experience designed for exceptional photographic opportunities. They are unlike our regular tours. You wont get five star hotels, the itinerary can change on short notice and you'll be on a journey that has never been run before and probably will never be run again.

Each trip is open to just 3 passengers, accompanied by photographer Ewen Bell with the support of Grasshopper Adventures managing the operations behind the scenes. Some trips are designed around exploring a small corner of China by private vehicle, while others speed across the vast length of Japan on Bullet Trains. Each journey is unique, never to be repeated and usually takes Ewen to parts of the world where he has never been - that's half the fun!
The small group size of just 4 people allows flexibile opportunities to stop on the way as desired, to overnight in small villages and take advantage of last minute changes to itineraries. As a research trip there are no certainties about the final schedule, and as such the concept will only suit photographers who have a genuine passion for travel.
Research trips have been designed recently to visit the following destinations: Guizhou province of China, Yunnan province of China, Japan's Honshu Island, Thailand's Elephant Trails and the Jungles of Borneo. If you have a hankering for something outside of Asia there's also a Scandinavian Exploration that is lush with photographic treats, plus we have friends in Morocco, Peru and Africa.
All of these itineraries are also possible to run for private groups of 3 or more.
